From the beach club to excellence.

How a historic seaside venue became a food system able to grow, innovate and earn recognition.

The context

On the Ostia seafront, Capanno Beach Club has been a landmark of the Roman coast for years. A place with history, a loyal crowd and a strong identity — the perfect base from which to launch something new.

The insight

Not opening "another pizzeria", but extending a brand that already worked. In 2023 Slice of Capanno was born — a gourmet pizzeria and cocktail bar: the contemporary offshoot of Capanno, founded by Cristiano Giacometti with Valerio Mazziotti. A pizzeria, in his words, "with a bit more ambition".

The intervention (Space)

This is where Fabrizio Lentini steps in as project architect: architectural and interior design, works supervision and venue launch. A contemporary space designed as an experience: a bright room, a cocktail bar at the entrance, a visual identity that breaks the codes of the neighbourhood pizzeria.

The story (Growth)

The format also lives on story: a rotating drink list, mixology synergies, a pop and recognisable narrative on the coast. Today Here We Go Agency runs the communication and marketing of Capanno's social channels, growing exposure, numbers and brand strength.

The result

Less than a year after opening, Slice of Capanno earned two slices from Gambero Rosso (Pizzerie Guide 2025), with a score of 85: among the most recognised signature pizzerias on the Roman coast.
